Step 1. For a fee of Ksh 1,000, obtain Forms IX. Return the completed and signed forms to the Medical Officer of Health in your region or the Provincial Medical Officer (PMO).

Step 2. Obtain a certificate of hospital business registration.

Step 3. Obtain a clearance inspection report from the inspection team that includes all pertinent information.

Step 4. Have official copies of all medical personnel’s professional credentials on hand, such as physicians’ and nurses’ private practice licenses and registration certificates.

Step 5. Verify that the necessary authorities have signed off on your building design architectural plan.

Step 6. Have proof of mortuary/storage facilities for deceased bodies in the case your hospital offer the service.

Step 7. A pharmacy managed by a competent pharmacist/pharmaceutical technologist must be present in hospitals.

Step 8. Must pay the Proprietor/Administrator/Director any required fees to guarantee that:

a. The facility is kept clean.

b. The license for the institution is current.

c. The health experts who operate there are properly licensed and registered.
