Safaricom’s Scheduled Maintenance Sunday 11p.m To 4am

Safaricom PLC, East Africa’s telecommunications giant, has announced planned network maintenance that will temporarily disrupt several of its services. The maintenance is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am on Monday, October 9, 2023.

During this period, customers can expect intermittent availability of services, including Lipa Na M-PESA Pay Bill and Buy Goods, M-PESA business to customer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B) transactions, USSD services such as *100# and *200#, Daraja Portal, and all M-PESA APIs.

Additionally, services like M-Shwari, KCB M-PESA, M-Kesho, pinless top-up, loT services, M-PESA App, Safaricom App, international money transfers (Western Union), MPESA Global, M-PESA organization portal, Dealer portal, and Lipa na M-PESA portal will also be affected.

However, Safaricom assures customers that essential services like calls, data, SMS, and other M-PESA transactions will operate as usual during the maintenance period.

In a statement, Safaricom explained that this routine maintenance is essential to support innovations and accommodate the increasing customer demand for their services. The company also expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their ongoing support, which has helped Safaricom maintain its position as the leading provider in the country.

It’s worth noting that Safaricom recently launched an upgraded in-country cloud computing platform and services. These services, hosted in data centers in Nairobi and Kisumu, are powered by VMware technologies. The platform offers businesses and organizations flexibility and resilience in an ever-changing environment.

Customers can now run their applications with the flexibility to allocate cloud computing capabilities as per their requirements. This initiative, according to Cynthia Karuri-Kropac, Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Safaricom, signifies a new era of possibilities for businesses, acting as a catalyst for innovation and growth.

As Safaricom focuses on enhancing its services and infrastructure, occasional maintenance such as this is crucial to ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for its customers.
