16-Year-Old to Held in Custody for 21 Days as Investigation into Eric Maigo’s Murder Intensifies

In a significant development, a 16-year-old suspect linked to the tragic murder of Eric Maigo, the Finance Director at Nairobi Hospital, has been placed in police custody for a period of 21 days. This decision comes as part of an effort to facilitate the ongoing investigation into the incident.

The minor was apprehended this past Tuesday in the Kibra area of Nairobi County. Law enforcement authorities have submitted a miscellaneous application, asserting that there is reason to believe the minor played a pivotal role in orchestrating the violence that ultimately led to Maigo’s untimely demise on September 15.

The investigating officer has revealed that several crucial witnesses have yet to provide their statements, and DNA samples need to undergo analysis at the government chemist. Remarkably, the minor, who had been evading authorities, was finally apprehended in the Olympic Village area of Kibra on Tuesday night.

Following her arrest, the suspect underwent questioning by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) before being remanded to the custody of the Muthaiga police station.

This development marks a crucial step in the pursuit of justice for Eric Maigo’s tragic death, as investigators continue to piece together the events surrounding this shocking incident.
