In an unusual and shocking incident that transpired on September 11, 2023, in the serene Seretio village of Moiben, Uasin Gishu County, a 20-year-old farm worker named Billy Kipchumba has been sentenced to a two-year prison term. His guilty plea came after committing an unnatural act involving a cow.
Before the Eldoret principal magistrate, Caroline Wamitta, Kipchumba made a startling admission—he had used a condom during the bizarre encounter. His plea was laden with remorse as he implored the court for forgiveness.
“Your honor, I humbly request the court’s mercy. This is an isolated incident, and I deeply regret my actions. It was an overpowering urge that I couldn’t resist; it felt like the devil’s work,” he fervently expressed.
The courtroom was in disbelief when the cow’s owner recounted the startling discovery he made on that fateful Monday morning. Disturbed by a commotion from his cowshed at around 7 a.m., he arrived to find Kipchumba with his pants down.
Having reviewed the evidence presented in court, the magistrate delivered her verdict, declaring Kipchumba guilty as charged. In her statement, she underscored the importance of treating all creatures, including animals, with respect and dignity akin to human beings.
With a firm stance, the principal magistrate gave the accused a two-year jail sentence. This ruling emphasizes the gravity of the offense and aims to deter such behavior in the future.
Kipchumba, however, has a window of opportunity to challenge the verdict within 14 days.
