Ugandan Man Creates History by Marrying 7 Brides in a Single Day

In a remarkable tale from Namasengere village in Uganda’s Mukono District, a 43-year-old traditional healer, Habib Nsikonnene, has taken the spotlight after gaining the approval of his seven prospective wives’ parents in just one week.

Habib Nsikonnene didn’t stop there; he went on to unite with all seven of his fiancées, including two blood sisters, in a series of grand traditional Muslim weddings (Nikkah) held at each bride’s residence on the same memorable day.

Known for his substantial wealth within the local community, Nsikonnene hosted a lavish reception ceremony at his home for all seven brides, along with their friends and family, on the following Sunday. The spectacular event featured an impressive marriage convoy of around 40 vehicles and 30 motorcycles. Residents attribute Nsikonnene’s opulent lifestyle to the success of his business ventures.

Nsikonnene has attained a quasi-heroic status within the community, effectively putting his remote village on the map. Emmanuel Owere, the chairperson of Namasengere Village, remarked on Nsikonnene’s extraordinary impact: “This man with exceptional qualities, Nsikonnene, settled in this village about four years ago. He came and acquired land here and introduced himself as a traditional healer. We allowed him to practice his craft.”

Little did they anticipate the fame he would bring to their village. As Owere stated, “When he settled here, little did we know that he would bring us fame. Our village name is trending everywhere.”

In recognition of his contributions, the village chairperson has proposed naming a road in the area after Nsikonnene.
“He is a unique individual because, despite his societal status, he has connected with everyone. He is a diligent worker, and locals should take inspiration from him,” Owere added, praising Nsikonnene’s dedication and work ethic.
