Catholic Priest Weds Before is Ordination in Githunguri

In a picturesque village nestled in the heart of Ikinu, Githunguri, and Kiambu County, a most extraordinary event unfolded, leaving the community in awe.

Sunday marked the union of Reverend Father Edwin Gathang’i Waiguru and Margaret Wanjira Githui, a day that witnessed a marriage ceremony intertwined with an ordination, all within the sacred walls of the Catholic Charismatic church—a faction diverged from the traditional Roman Catholic faith.

The tale of Father Edwin is one that defies convention and embraces divine calling. After years of devout service within the Roman Catholic Church, he found himself drawn to a different path, a path where his love for God and his longing for companionship could harmoniously coexist.

His decision to marry Margaret was more than a personal choice; it was, in his words, a divine decree—an unmistakable call from the heavens that had lingered in his heart for years.

In a heartfelt interview with Nation TV, Father Edwin revealed the spiritual journey that led him to this momentous occasion.

“I thank my wife for accepting to come and be used by God. Together, we stand as a testament to the world: one can serve God faithfully and also nurture a family. It’s a truth embedded in the very fabric of our creation, as God envisioned companionship for every soul,” he shared.

The ceremony, an unparalleled fusion of matrimony and ordination, left the attendees spellbound. The village, abuzz with whispers of astonishment, echoed with admiration for the couple’s courage.

“Many people who were present had never witnessed such an extraordinary event—a wedding and an ordination unfolding simultaneously, a celebration of love and faith interwoven,” remarked one of the attendees.

Father Edwin’s spiritual odyssey began in 2003. Over the years, he embarked on missionary journeys that took him across continents. His travels led him to the United States, where he shared the message of love and faith, and then to Haiti, where he continued his sacred mission. Eventually, he found his way back home, his heart brimming with a profound sense of purpose.

Bishop Patrick Mulinge, the spiritual guide who ordained Father Edwin to priesthood in 2003, witnessed his protege’s unconventional yet divinely inspired choice.

“I am thankful for the divine call that beckoned me to ordain Father Edwin. God has chosen him to bring forth something unprecedented in our world,” expressed Bishop Mulinge.

The union of Father Edwin and Margaret is more than a marriage; it’s a testament to the enduring power of love and faith. It’s a reminder that the divine path often unfolds in unexpected ways, embracing human connection and spiritual devotion in equal measure.

Their story resonates as a beacon of hope and an affirmation that love, faith, and service can beautifully coalesce, illuminating the path for others to follow.
