In a recent development, President William Ruto has named former Cherangany Member of Parliament, Joshua Kutuny, as the new Chairperson of the Kenya Copyright Board.
This significant appointment, made under the authority of section 6(1)(a) of the Copyright Act 2001, entrusts Kutuny with the crucial responsibility of leading the Kenya Copyright Board for a tenure spanning three years, commencing from October 27, 2023, as per the official Gazette Notice issued on October 26, 2023.
Joshua Kutuny, a seasoned politician who contested in the previous General Election but was defeated by the incumbent Cherangany MP Wesly Korir, will now play a pivotal role in shaping the copyright landscape of Kenya.
This appointment reflects President Ruto’s confidence in Kutuny’s abilities and experience, underscoring his belief in Kutuny’s capacity to contribute significantly to the development and enforcement of copyright policies in the country.
