OL Pejeta Conservancy started in the colonial era as a cattle ranching project which gradually grew under different managements to an animal conservancy. The conservancy is one of Kenya’s back-borne attraction sites with all kinds of endangered animal species.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is the largest conservancy of the Black rhinos in the entire East African region and the only conservancy hosting the Northern white Rhinos in the whole world. Chimpanzee families and other wildlife have been rescued from poaching and the black market.
Despite the Conservancy hosting many dangerous species such as lions, leopards among others, the management has also maintained livestock, including; dairy farming, beef, and other farming types.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy Nature Preserve in Kenya has worked to preserve several animal species from extinction by poachers. Some of the animals hosted at Olpejeta include;

OL Pejeta Conservancy White Rhino
The Northern White Rhinos are now 5 in Number. Through Safari Park Dvůr Králové, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya Wildlife Service in conjunction with the International Consortium of Scientists and Conservationists, the Kenyan government, from Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research, are working towards preserving the species from extinction.
Leibniz-IZW team has come up with a new technology Reproduction System. The other bodies ran several tests and scientific research in the Avantea laboratory in Cremona, Italy, where assisted reproduction of oocytes was conducted, resulting in the successful preservation of 5 embryos by 2020.
Sweetwaters Serena Camp OL Pejeta Conservancy
The camp is tented with an ultramodern design located close to the Sweetwaters, a water hole in the OL Pejeta Conservancy, and 50 luxurious tents. Sweetwaters Serena Camp has lasted for decades from 1970 now, with their main building formally being the ranch manager’s residence.
The camp has been preferred over the years by visitors since it is widely known for its wilderness experience. Visitors enjoy the back of Mt. Kenya’s scenic views, the watering hole, and the land’s topography from their verandas.
