In a groundbreaking move, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki unveiled a dynamic plan on Tuesday that promises to transform governance as we know it. The ministry has handpicked 30 National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs), aptly referred to as “Trainers of Trainers” (ToTs), who are set to embark on a specialized training journey.
According to an official statement released on Tuesday, September 26, by the ministry, these chosen officers will undergo comprehensive training that covers a spectrum of emerging issues, ranging from security, peace, and citizen safety.
But that’s not all; the NGAOs will also be equipped with skills related to public participation, engagement, and effective communication, essential tools for addressing the current challenges facing our nation.
The Deputy County Commissioners (DCCs), selected based on their merit, will not be left out of this transformative process. They, too, will undergo training in various cross-cutting subjects, with a strong focus on critical topics such as climate change, employee well-being, and psychosocial support.
Following this rigorous training, they will be deployed to disseminate a revolutionary mindset shift throughout the NGAOS structure.
Interior PS Raymond Omollo clarified the primary objective of these officers: to ensure that every interaction between administrators and the citizens, fondly referred to as “mwananchi,” is characterized by empathy and a genuine understanding of their unique needs and concerns.
This strategic move is part of an ongoing series of transformative changes within the ministry, aimed at cascading positive shifts throughout the NGAOS structure.
The PS emphasized the ministry’s collaboration with various stakeholders to solidify the National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) as the driving force behind strategic interventions within our communities.
The Interior Ministry envisions a future where every single citizen not only thrives but also contributes significantly to our collective prosperity. This appointment signals a new era in governance, one that promises to empower citizens and elevate our nation to greater heights.
