China celebrated a significant milestone as it commemorated 74 years since the birth of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949. To mark this momentous occasion, the Chinese Embassy in Kenya extended a warm invitation to dignitaries from across the nation, creating a platform to acknowledge China’s remarkable achievements.
Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi, US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman, Speaker of the Senate Gladys Shollei, Kisii Governor Simba Arati, and Royal Media Services Editorial Director Linus Kaikai. Their presence emphasized the importance of the event and the strengthening ties between China and Kenya.
During the event held on Wednesday, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Zhou Pingjian, highlighted China’s enduring status as the world’s second-largest economy since 2010. He underscored that China’s impressive economic growth and sustained social stability are attributed to the path they have chosen.
Ambassador Pingjian pledged China’s commitment to collaborating with Kenya on the principles of multilateralism. He reaffirmed their dedication to upholding the United Nations’ pivotal role in international affairs and championing the shared interests of developing nations.
Furthermore, the ambassador outlined their joint efforts in advancing the implementation of the Outlook on Peace and Development in the Horn of Africa. This cooperative endeavor is aimed at safeguarding regional peace and promoting development, underscoring the commitment of China and Kenya to a future of strengthened relations and shared prosperity.
